Job Description:

Saab, Inc. is growing! We are expanding our workforce at our new Cranston, RI manufacturing facility, where we are building the next generation of Autonomous Undersea Vehicles (AUVs). We are seeking Senior Assemblers to join our Manufacturing and Production team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assembling parts and/or units, positioning, aligning, and fastening components to assemblies, subassemblies, or frames using various hand and power tools.

  • Positioning, aligning, and adjusting parts for proper fit and assembly.

  • Connecting cables, rods, and wiring according to standard manufacturing methods and procedures.

  • Possessing working knowledge of basic hand tools, including torque wrenches, crimpers, etc.

  • Soldering using intermediate techniques.

  • Demonstrating intermediate computer skills, including the ability to use scroll bars, a mouse, and dialog boxes to navigate within the operating system.

  • Using specific computer databases, including Oracle, to manage information, input data, retrieve records, and communicate information.

  • Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents and possesses the ability to read and interpret drawings and wire lists.

Compensation Range: $25.19 - $30.24/hour

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of qualified mechanical assembly manufacturing experience.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications in both written and digital formats.

  • Ability to execute appropriate working methods and select correct tools to ensure quality and efficiency.

  • Ability to follow standardized procedures for high repeatability in an advanced, connected manufacturing environment.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as sitting, bending, stooping, walking, climbing, and reaching throughout a normal workday.

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions (such as lifting or assembly of parts), including the use of handheld power tools.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Technical degree or certification in assembly, mechanics, or maintenance.

  • Experience delivering high-quality work in compliance with ISO/AS9100 standards.
