Job Description:

Saab, Inc. in East Syracuse, NY is seeking an experienced Senior Assembler to join the Manufacturing/ Production team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Work from wire diagrams and engineering drawings, make initial layouts, and use hand and/or power tools as necessary to complete required assemblies.

  • Disassemble, modify, rework, and reassemble production or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications.

  • Understand sophisticated electro-mechanical assembly operations concepts and how they can be applied to resolve complex issues and meet the company objectives.

  • Understand ESD principles and safeguarding. Proper use of hand tools such as wire cutters, strippers & crimpers.

  • Identify tasks to resolve independently.

  • Be involved in process improvement and development

Compensation Range: $21.92-$25.77

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree, technical/business school, or equivalent; may vary by functional area.

  • 7+ years of relevant experience.

  • Experience may include advanced support skills and extensive knowledge of tools, software and other technologies.

  • Ability to read and understand work instructions and assembly drawings.

  • Technical product trouble shooting skills.

  • General electronic soldering skills and inspection requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
