Your Role
As a Senior Software Developer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and evolving modern software development environments. You will be part of a DevOps team of seven skilled developers working in an Agile setup, where collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement are at the core of everything we do.
You will join Software Excellence and Information Assurance (SWEIXA), a central function within the development ecosystem of the Surveillance business area. As part of Design, SWEIXA acts as a center of gravity for software development, ensuring alignment, common use, and continuous evolution of technologies and platforms to secure future capabilities and delivery.
The department’s mission is to provide methods, tools, and infrastructure for digital development, increasing efficiency, speed, and security across both products and development environments.
In this role, you will:
- Design, build, and maintain modern software development environments
- Drive and improve CI/CD pipelines, covering build, testing, and deployment
- Manage and evolve container-based platforms and deployments (e.g. Kubernetes, Bitbucket, Artifactory)
- Ensure software quality through automated testing (unit, integration, end-to-end)
- Contribute to DevOps and Agile ways of working, including planning, estimation, and continuous improvement
- Collaborate closely with team members and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
- Support and mentor junior developers
- This role may require occasional travel
Your Profile
We are looking for an experienced software developer with a strong technical foundation and a passion for DevOps and modern development practices. You are a collaborative team player with a proactive mindset and a drive for continuous improvement.
You bring:
- A BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, along with several years of experience in software development
- Strong experience working in Linux-based environments and with container technologies (e.g. Docker, Podman)
- Solid knowledge of CI/CD, including building, testing, and deployment pipelines, as well as version control and artifact repositories
- Experience with databases (SQL or NoSQL) and programming/scripting in Python, Bash, or similar
- A good understanding of Agile ways of working, including planning, estimation, and tools such as Jira
- Strong communication skills in English and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
Nice to have
Experience in one or more of the following areas is considered a plus:
- DevSecOps and security practices, including vulnerability scanning and secure software development
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern infrastructure tooling
- API technologies (REST, GraphQL, OpenAPI) and database migration tools (e.g. Flyway, Liquibase)
- Tools such as SonarQube, Vault, or similar platforms supporting quality and secure development
- An interest in or experience with AI and emerging technologies
Further, you should be a driven and proactive professional, eager to learn new technologies and work collaboratively as part of a team of dedicated software developers. You have excellent communication and collaboration skills, act as a mentor for junior colleagues, and bring an innovative mindset. You are adaptable, focused on continuous improvement, customer-oriented, passionate about delivering value, and have strong problem-solving skills.
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
