Senior Production Test Technician

Job Description:

At Saab in Cranston, Rhode Island, you have the opportunity to join a team that will manufacture underwater products for DoD and international customers. 

Saab, Inc. is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Senior Production Test Technician to assist in the standup of new production capability in our Cranston, Rhode Island facility. 

You'll support manufacturing efforts by performing the set-up, assembly, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies.

Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

  • Utilize SW/HW test engineering principals, techniques, and company standards.

  • Assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment.

  • Complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing. Prepares technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems.

  • Understand sophisticated manufacturing operations concepts and apply concepts to resolve complex issues and meet company objectives.

  • Support assembly and final testing of a various undersea vehicles.

  • Provide input to process improvement efforts.

Skills and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree, technical/business school, or equivalent

  • 7+ years of relevant experience 

  • Experience may include advanced support skills and extensive knowledge of 
    tools, software and other technologies.

  • Ability to decipher required data from assembly drawing and schematics.

  • Ability to locate tool, meters and documentation.

  • Ability troubleshoot electro/mechanical nonconformance’s.

  • Ability to solder electronic devices and assemblies.

  • Ability to assign root cause to routing nonconforming assemblies and may implement corrective action or fix.

Citizenship Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
