Job Description:

Saab, Inc. is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented individual as a Senior Staff Systems Engineer, to serve as a Staff Systems Engineer in support of the Training and Simulation Business Area. You will be joining a dynamic team supporting United States Marine Corps and US Army training and simulation programs with a focus on the Live Training Domain. As such you will be expected to lead the Systems Engineering process and be the primary interface to the customer stakeholders in developing and decomposing system requirements as well as maintaining them throughout the program lifecycles. Offer contingent upon contract win.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide the primary Systems Engineering leadership as part of a cross functional team of Government and Industry to deliver the requirements of the program.

  • Develop and maintain a Requirements Traceability Matrix throughout the lifecycle of the program.

  • Develop and maintain technical risk analysis and management

  • Support the development, test and Integration efforts of the program

  • Act as primary interface to the customer requirements advocates and ensure complete allocation, interpretation and traceability of primary and decomposed requirements across the hardware, software and process configuration items.

  • Develop and maintain appropriate documentation in accordance with SAAB processes and customer mandated System Engineering CDRLs.

  • Develop and maintain a requirements schema using appropriate tools such as DOORS or equivalent.

  • Proactively identify and manage issues and risks associated with requirements, including technical, cost and schedule baselines.

  • Contribute to the development and refinement of System engineering processes as needed.

  • Some travel (up to 25%) CONUS and OCUNUS is required

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree or higher in a technical/engineering discipline

  • 5-10 years serving in the System Engineering function on large, complex programs including “cradle to grave” program lifecycles

  • Experience developing and maintaining RTM schema using appropriate tools such as DOORS

  • Experience in systems using complex mix of hardware and software to deliver program requirements.

  • Experience in Live Training Domain (Combat Training Centers, MILES or equivalent training systems, RF communications infrastructure)

  • Practical experience with USMC and/or US Army programs
