As a manager at the Naval Software department, you work closely with your teams and PO as well as closely to you line manager colleagues. Naval SW is a software development organisation that maintains and implements functionality for the product 9LV CMS and delivers to a number of customer project. Being a manager in this organisation means that you will have to discuss functional growth and plan implementation tasks together with your team, your PO and the customer projects. Further, you will work with building team competence, capacity and capability. We are working towards strong teams with ownership of design and deliveries, and we are looking for you to be part of this coaching journey.
As part of the management team at Naval SW, you will contribute to the overall planning and coordination between teams and sites. In Sweden, we currently have ten teams; the Finnish site is home to one team and down under, in Australia, eight teams are delivering code to our repos. We expect you to contribute to the team spirit in the management team and, yes, we might even expect you to share some fun. You know, once in a while or so.
For this particular role, you will be managing a new section. When you start, the section starts with just one team; but since we are expecting to grow, recruiting and building new teams will be a big part of your first time.

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have very strong communication-, leadership- and change management skills. You must have the ability to challenge status quo and seek out new perspectives. You practice coaching and value driven leadership and building relationships within the organisation.
We envision a management team where each member contributes to a dynamic environment with their individual skills. You have experience in leading, managing and coaching software teams towards delivering on time, with high quality. Also, understanding how your team deliveries are part of the bigger scope that all needs to align in order to successfully delivery the customer projects to the customer.

- Experience as a manager or other leading position
- Experience from or understanding of software development
- Degree in engineering, or equivalent
- Track record of developing and growing teams

You will be part of the Software management team at Naval Engineering in Business Unit Combat Systems. Combat Systems (CS) supplies world-leading Command and Control systems, product and services to the armed forces. We operate globally with local sites in Sweden, Australia, Finland and Germany. The software department consists of in total 6 sections with around 100 employees all toghether. You will be reporting to Head of Software.
