Support Manager  - Training and Simulation (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Support Manager for a permanent full-time position within our Training and Simulation Department in Paderborn.

In Paderborn we work with the British Army with laser-based Weapons Effects Simulators.  (DFWES Systems for vehicle and soldiers). We are part of a larger team that supports the British Army around the world.

Your Role:

  • Report directly to the Capability Manager in the UK

  • Provide leadership and management to a small team of four employees who support all aspects of DFWES equipment and operations for the British Army

  • Ensure contractual and operational support for military exercises

  • Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot DFWES systems

  • Preparation and follow-up of equipment for military exercises

  • On-site support during exercises, as well as occasional business trips to Sweden and the United Kingdom to participate in exercises, meetings, and project sessions.

  • Close collaboration with military and civilian contacts.

  • Responsibility for financial, technical, and HSSE-related (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) matters at the site

  • Responsibility for the smooth day-to-day operations of the site

You are responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the site and for providing the contractually agreed-upon and operational support services for military exercises and our customers. In addition, you will provide technical and disciplinary leadership to team members and be responsible for financial, technical, and HSSE-related matters.

Your profile:

  • Technical understanding and, ideally, technical training or a technical background

  • Knowledge of and understanding of site management and site operations

  • Experience in a military environment or with military exercises.

  • A strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work well in a team

  • English language skills are essential.

  • German language skills are desirable.

  • Valid Class B driver’s license

  • Willingness to travel occasionally for work and to undertake assignments both domestically and abroad
