Lead the Support Services of a strategic and national significant Land Capability program.
This role is available in Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra or Brisbane and can be performed from any of these locations.
Saab is seeking an experienced Support Manager to lead the delivery of integrated support services of in-service land systems.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a sustainment professional who understands the importance of delivering exceptional customer outcomes across the full support lifecycle.
Working closely with Defence customers, industry stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams, you'll oversee engineering support, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), maintenance, training, supply chain, field services and help desk operations to ensure contractual obligations are met and capability remains mission ready.

The Role
As the Support Manager, you will provide leadership across all support service functions, driving safe, efficient and customer-focused delivery. You'll lead a multidisciplinary team, manage key stakeholder relationships, oversee sustainment performance, and ensure support activities are aligned with Defence requirements, program objectives and operational priorities.
Your ability to balance technical, commercial and operational considerations will be critical to maintaining fleet availability, driving continuous improvement and delivering long-term customer value.
Key responsibilities:
Provide clear direction, allocate responsibilities, and monitor performance across training, maintenance, logistics, help desk, and field support functions.
Foster a collaborative, safe, and high-performance team culture aligned with Saab’s values.
Develop workforce capability through internal stakeholder engagement, training, professional development and succession planning.
Define and allocate work priorities for the systems integration teams to meet project milestones.
Ensure delivery of engineering, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), training, maintenance, and supply chain support activities in accordance with contracted requirements.
Oversee help desk operations, maintenance services, and Field Service Technician (FST) deployments to meet customer requirements.
Manage training delivery and training system updates, ensuring compliance with Defence frameworks.
Oversee supply chain, spares management, and warehouse operations to maintain readiness and availability.
Oversee adherence to quality, EHS, and configuration management requirements across Support Services.
About you
You are an experienced Defence sustainment leader with a strong background in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), engineering support or complex asset sustainment. You are recognised for building high-performing teams, developing trusted customer relationships and delivering outstanding support outcomes in demanding environments.
You will bring:
Demonstrated experience delivering Defence sustainment, support services or Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) programs.
Strong understanding of Defence sustainment frameworks, CASG processes and logistics management.
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across engineering, maintenance, logistics, training and customer support.
Strong stakeholder engagement, commercial and supplier management skills.
Knowledge of project management methodologies, Earned Value Management (EVM/CSSR) and Defence ERP/logistics systems.
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Science or Business, with AIPM CPPM (or equivalent) highly regarded.
Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
Personal Attributes:
Commercial acumen and experience managing subcontractor and supplier support arrangements.
Excellent communicator, able to set clear expectations and provide feedback.
