Sustainment Post-Delivery Program Manager

Job Description:

Saab, Inc. is seeking a Post-Delivery Program Manager (PDPM) to oversee all sustainment support activities for multiple products. Support activities begin after system hardware has been delivered to the customer, at which point the PDPM becomes the primary point of contact throughout the lifecycle of the fielded system.

The successful candidate will apply demonstrated program and project management knowledge to resolve a variety of operational and customer support challenges. To succeed in this role, candidates must possess strong leadership capabilities, expertise in program and project management, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the primary customer interface throughout the lifecycle of fielded systems.

  • Lead sustainment and post-delivery support activities for multiple products.

  • Manage spares and repair quoting, order management, and service contract proposals.

  • Coordinate integration efforts, onsite testing and troubleshooting support, and training activities with customers, Saab engineers, and field technicians.

  • Ensure all required parts and materials are onsite prior to scheduled service events.

  • Provide ongoing support to field technicians, including coordinating additional parts for troubleshooting and leading next-step discussions with appropriate Saab team members.

  • Manage Basic Order Agreements between Saab and customers, including quoting, purchase order reviews, and Task Order Management.

  • Coordinate execution of service events with the Technical Support Manager.

  • Manage spares and repairs with the core team, including Contracts, Finance, Configuration Management (CM), Supply Chain, and the Depot (repairs only).

  • Track on-time delivery performance and other key program metrics.

  • Participate in Saab’s financial planning cycles by providing revenue forecasts and order projection feedback.

  • Analyze failure trends to drive Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts and communicate findings to customers.

  • Utilize failure trend analysis to proactively identify and mitigate customer inventory risks.

  • Manage cost, schedule, and quality metrics associated with sustainment activities.

  • Complete system handovers with the appropriate Production Program Manager to ensure proper transition and continuity.

  • Develop customer-facing reports aligned with customer requirements and expectations.

  • Participate in Saab and customer Program Management Reviews (PMRs).

  • Utilize continuous improvement principles to enhance processes and operational effectiveness.

  • Ensure compliance with Saab Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Travel up to 15% annually, both domestically and internationally.

Compensation Range: $101,600 - $132,000

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, Business, or related discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment.

  • Experience in Project Management.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Visio, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.

  • Highly organized with strong multitasking and time management skills.

  • Ability to follow up on action items and requests in a timely manner.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, decentralized environment.

  • Focus on quality and continuous improvement principles, including Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Comfortable interacting with employees and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to drive and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.

  • Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance, if required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Military Logistics and Maintenance Principles.

  • Understanding of the Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition process.
