Your Role
As a System Safety Engineer at Saab, you will play a central role in our safety work. We strive to protect people, property, and the environment by developing safe and reliable systems. You will work in a team of up to 24 other System Safety Engineers and be actively involved in one or more development projects.
Your responsibility will be to manage all safety-related matters and ensure that our systems meet the highest safety standards.An important part of your role is to collaborate and build strong internal networks within Saab, which requires strong interpersonal skills. We work with both hardware and software, so broad technical knowledge in these areas is an advantage. Responsibilities and Key Tasks
- Conduct risk analyses to identify and minimize safety risks.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Document your work and perform analyses to demonstrate that our products are safe.
- Act as the lead and representative for system safety within the projects you are responsible for.
- Communicate effectively internally and convey system safety aspects to other disciplines.
- Manage requirements and system safety discussions with external customers.
Your Profile
In this role, you will be a key point of coordination. Often, you will be one or two System Safety Engineers in a project, collaborating closely with several other functions, including system safety specialists. This means many interfaces and broad collaboration across the organization.
We are therefore looking for someone who is social, curious, and proactive in asking questions. Our systems are complex, so to succeed in this role you need the confidence to ask questions, reach out to others, and understand how different parts fit together.

- Experience in system safety within hardware and/or software.
- Experience working with real-time critical systems with high safety and reliability requirements.
- Knowledge of H ProgSäk, Mil-Std-882, H SysSäk, and requirements management is a strong plus.
- Strong communication skills in English and Swedish, both written and spoken.
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply
