Your Role
As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, integration, and verification of complex ship systems throughout their full lifecycle. You may act as a System Lead Engineer or a key systems engineer within larger programs, depending on the project.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, integrate and maintain complex ship propulsion and power systems and subsystems
Participate in drivetrain and system integration across multiple suppliers and disciplines
Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation
Engage in procurement activities and supplier dialogue, including various acceptance tests
Perform or oversee system analyses, simulations, and risk assessments
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, shipyards, suppliers, and authorities
Review system designs and contribute to continuous improvement of processes, methods, and tools
Share knowledge generously and help strengthen the team’s collective competence
Your Profile
We're looking for a professional and curious engineer with strong system-level thinking and a growth mindset. You should be comfortable working across disciplines, adapting to changes, and demonstrating technical leadership.
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Process Industry Systems Engineering, or equivalent
Experience in system design, integration, or product development within naval, defence, or similarly complex technical environments
Solid understanding of powertrains, mechanical, electrical, and control systems integration
Familiarity with product development processes, procurement, and technical negotiations
Fluent in technical Swedish and English, spoken and written
Swedish driving license (B) or equivalent
Desirable Qualifications
Experience with requirements, classification rules, and military or regulated standards
Proficiency in modern engineering tools, such as AVEVA Suite, CREO, IBM DOORS, and MS Office
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
