We are seeking a Land Technical Support Officer to provide hands-on technical support across Land support projects, helping ensure complex electronic, electrical and electro-mechanical systems, equipment and test facilities are operational, configured and ready to support testing and integration activities.

This is a practical technical role working closely with engineering, project management and customer teams across a number of activities, including equipment activation, testing, fault diagnosis, maintenance, repair and system support.

The Role

You will provide day-to-day technical support across the test, assure, diagnose, repair, maintain and upgrade lifecycle of Land systems capabilities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the activation, configuration and operation of system elements, equipment suites, software and interfaces required for testing activities.

  • Conduct equipment inspections, preventative maintenance and demand maintenance activities.

  • Diagnose faults across electronic, electrical, electro-mechanical, hardware, software and network components.

  • Support equipment installation, commissioning, testing and acceptance activities.

  • Assist with system integration and verification activities, identifying and resolving technical issues.

  • Configure and maintain system and equipment baselines to support operational and testing requirements.

  • Assist with network configuration, fault diagnosis and connectivity troubleshooting.

  • Prepare technical reports, equipment records, support documentation and system specifications.

  • Maintain accurate technical and maintenance records and contribute to configuration management.

  • Apply approved work practices, including ESD prevention and safe electronic equipment handling.

  • Work with engineers, project teams, customers and other technical specialists to deliver safe and effective outcomes.

  • Provide practical technical input to maintenance planning, troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities.

About you

You will be a technically capable support professional who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting and working with complex systems and equipment.

You will bring:

  • Electronic and electrical equipment maintenance and fault-finding.

  • Hardware and software troubleshooting.

  • Equipment installation, commissioning and system acceptance testing.

  • Network configuration and diagnosis.

  • Preventative and corrective maintenance of complex technical systems.

  • Technical documentation, reporting and maintenance records.

  • Working within structured engineering, quality, safety and configuration management processes.

  • Defence, maritime or other complex mission-critical systems experience is highly desirable.

You will be safety-focused, methodical and comfortable working across a multidisciplinary environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, customers and project teams are essential.

Security & ITAR

  • Australian Defence Security Clearance – NV1 is required. Information including past and present nationality and citizenship may be requested to check eligibility for access to materials controlled under various export control regimes, including ITAR.

  • Ability to access and work with ITAR-controlled information

This is an opportunity to work hands-on with complex Defence technology while supporting the integration, testing and sustainment of Land capability. You will play a practical role in keeping critical equipment and test environments ready, reliable and fit for purpose.
