Technical Support Engineer

Job Description:

Saab Inc. is seeking a Field Service/Technical Support Engineer to provide outstanding service to all customers. The ideal candidate must be highly motivated, solutions-focused, and committed to solving customer problems. A positive outlook, strong collaboration skills, and a desire to help others are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Provide remote and occasional on-site technical support to customers on multiple complex systems.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and debug complex electro-mechanical equipment, computer systems, software, and networked and/or wireless systems. 

  • Resolve complex issues independently or in collaboration with others.

  • Respond to situations where first-line technicians are unable to isolate or fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.

  • Report design, reliability, and maintenance issues or software bugs to design and software engineering teams.

  • Interact frequently with customers to provide support and build strong relationships.

  • Support additional company functions such as customer installations and training, as needed.

  • Travel occasionally as required, typically 25% (approximately 1 - 2 trips per quarter).

Compensation Range: $70,200 - $87,800

    The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

    Skills and Experience:

    Required Qualifications:

    • BA/BS degree in an engineering discipline with 2+ years of related experience, OR MA/MS degree in an engineering discipline, OR 6+ years of military or aerospace experience.

    • Experience with radar and surveillance systems design, operation, or maintenance.

    • Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex issues

    • Strong oral and written communication skills.

    • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining positive, long-term customer relationships.

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 

    • Proven experience in building positive customer relationships through continued, long-term customer interaction.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Unix, Linux, and MATLAB experience desired. 

    • Active Secret Clearance or eligibility to obtain one is preferred.

    Citizenship Requirements:

    Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
