Job Description:

Saab Inc. is seeking a Field Service/Technical Support Engineer to provide exceptional service to our customers. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, customer-focused, and committed to solving customer issues. A positive attitude, desire to help others, and the ability to collaborate effectively are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Travel up to 60%, including to austere locations such as aboard Naval ships or overseas, to perform required job functions.

  • Provide hands-on technical support to customers, by phone and on-site, for multiple complex radar systems.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and debug complex radar systems, including electro-mechanical equipment, computer systems, and software.

  • Report design, reliability, and maintenance issues or bugs to design and software engineering teams.

  • Maintain direct and consistent communication with customers.

  • Support other company functions as needed, including qualification/acceptance testing and training.

  • Deliver training to customers on the operation and maintenance of Saab products.

Compensation Range: $90,000 - $112,500

When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

Required Qualifications: 

  • BA/BS degree in an engineering discipline with 5+ years of related experience, OR MA/MS degree in an engineering discipline with 3+ years of related experience, OR 9+ years of military or aerospace experience.

  • Knowledge and understanding of troubleshooting, and repair of radar systems.

  • Ability to lift, remove, and replace components weighing 50 pounds or more.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance


Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience with Giraffe AMB (or similar) radar systems in design, operation, or maintenance.

Citizenship Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
