The role
Reporting to the Test Site Manager, you will support the ongoing development, maintenance and governance of Saab's Test Site and Reference System environments.
You will contribute across the full lifecycle of test site activities, from system establishment and documentation through configuration management, maintenance planning and stakeholder coordination.
This hands-on role offers exposure to leading-edge Defence technologies and provides a strong pathway for engineers looking to further develop their systems integration and test engineering capability.
Further, the successful candidate will:
- Support the design, installation, maintenance and disposal of Test Site and Reference System infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain engineering and configuration documentation for Test Site reference systems.
- Assist in the implementation and ongoing management of configuration control processes in accordance with Saab policies and procedures.
- Support design reviews and technical assessments for Test Site systems and infrastructure.
- Contribute to Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and maintenance planning activities.
- Coordinate and facilitate external vendor and supplier support activities.
- Collaborate with engineering, project and integration teams to ensure Test Site availability and readiness.
- Support test, verification and evaluation activities across complex Defence systems.

About you
You are a technically curious and proactive engineer who enjoys solving practical engineering challenges and working across multidisciplinary teams.You'll bring a systems-thinking mindset, strong attention to detail and the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ideally, you will have experience in one or more of the following areas:
Test and evaluation activities for Defence or complex technical systems.
Systems integration, configuration management or engineering support.
In-service support, maintenance or sustainment of Defence capabilities.
Configuration-controlled engineering environments.
Technical documentation development and management.
Experience working with any of the following would be highly regarded:
Maritime platforms including surface vessels or submarines.
Aerospace or aviation systems.
Land combat, mission or vehicle systems.Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I/C4ISR) systems.
Sensor, surveillance or mission management systems.
Relevant qualifications in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Systems Engineering or a related discipline will be well regarded.
Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
