Background
Isolation Forest and K-means are popular unsupervised machine learning algorithms used for anomaly detection, that can be used for identifying outliers or anomalies in datasets from logging or recording. The threshold levels are critical to determine if the identified anomalies should indicate a problem or not.
Description of the Thesis
This MSc thesis project aims at investigating how unsupervised ML algorithms can be used to identify problems in simulators for large-scale and complex systems. The study shall include a study of related previous work, interviews with senior engineers in software development at Saab Aeronautics, and evaluation using one or several ML models relevant for anomaly detection.
