Your role
As Tiger Team Lead, you will build and guide a small, high-impact group of specialists dedicated to solving the Business Unit’s toughest technical challenges. A technical strike team with the mission to step into critical projects, remove obstacles to delivery and accelerate the path from concept to reality – while demonstrating how modern tools, automation and AI-enabled development can improve the way we design, build and deliver.
Main responsibilities:
- Establish and lead the BU’s new Tiger Team, a 4-6 person cross-functional group of elite engineers.
- Lead short, high-impact technical missions to unblock delivery, accelerate MVPs, and prototype reusable solutions.
- Embed temporarily in Product Units or Core Dev squads to solve urgent technical challenges.
- Champion modern engineering practices, tools, and automation – including AI-assisted development – in close collaboration with Saab Corporate to help teams across the BU deliver faster, more efficiently, and with greater confidence.
- Deliver reference implementations and reusable modules that feed back into the BU platform.
- Define and maintain Tiger Team engagement processes with clear entry/exit criteria.
- Coordinate closely with Program Management, Product Owners, architects, and CoE leads to ensure platform alignments.
- Manage team priorities, capacity, and rapid context-switching to meet BU needs.
- Report on mission outcomes, adoption, and lessons learned to BU leadership.
Your profile
- 10+ years in software/system engineering, with proven leadership of high-performing teams.
- Broad technical skill set (full-stack, integration, platform engineering).
- Proven ability to identify, evaluate, and introduce modern engineering tools, frameworks, and practices – including AI-assisted development.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders in adopting new practices.
- Experience in C5ISR or other complex mission systems is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work in ambiguous, high-pressure contexts.
- Comfortable with rapid prototyping and producing production-quality code.
We value not only your skills and experience, but also place great importance on your personal qualities. To us, it is essential that you contribute to a positive working environment, enjoy collaborating with others, and have an attitude that supports both the team’s and the organisation’s development.
