Waterfront Naval Support Manager

Job Description:

Saab Inc. seeks a dynamic, results-oriented individual to fill the role of Waterfront Naval Support Manager.  Co-located with our US Navy customer at the waterfront in Naval Base San Diego, the focus of this position is to provide outstanding service. The ideal candidate must be highly motivated and committed to building strong and productive customer relationships, acting as a customer advocate, and working pro-actively to address customer issues. A positive outlook, desire to help others, and the ability to listen and work collaboratively are crucial to success in this position. Responsibilities of the Waterfront Naval Support Manager include:

  • Act as an embedded on-site Navy customer advocate.

  • Manage Saab’s relationship with representatives from various levels within the Navy.

  • Leverage preventive and corrective maintenance as training opportunities to develop and enhance Navy sailor technical proficiency.

  • Assist Navy personnel with troubleshooting and remediation.

  • Provide verbal and written reports to Saab leadership and other key functional and program organizations as required, including reports on design, reliability, and maintenance problems.

  • Perform data analysis to identify root cause and solutions to surveillance system problems.

  • Use common diagnostic test equipment and software tools to investigate issues.

  • Identify tasks to resolve independently.

  • Have significant contact with customers.

  • Participate in and/or lead process improvement efforts.

  • Influence colleagues to drive issues to resolution.

    Compensation Range: $132,800-$172,700

    The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

    Skills and Experience:

    • Naval background and work with LCS highly desired.

    • Proven experience building positive customer relationships through continued, long-term customer interaction.

    • Professional with demonstrated ability to manage customer relationships and independently troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.

    • Effectively use problem solving skills and analytical thinking.

    • Proven experience working with Radar systems.

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

    • Must be a problem solver who is poised, mature and fully capable of professional communication with customers and Saab personnel.

     

    Education & Experience:

    • BA/BS degree in an engineering discipline and 12+ years of experience
      or

    • 15+ years of military experience
      or

    • MA/MS degree in an engineering discipline and 8+ year of experience.

    Citizenship Requirements:

    Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
