We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to shape the future of our technology platform

Göteborg,
Sweden
Closing date: 2 October 2025

Want to influence the bigger picture? At Saab, you can realise amazing innovations that keep people and societies safe. Together, we can truly make an impact – and your part matters.

Your role

As a Systems Engineer in our team, you will -in this position- be working at the intersection of product leadership and system development, playing a key role in translating long-term product roadmaps into actionable technical work. This includes everything from early-stage pre-studies and research activities to shaping methodologies and system architectures that will define future capabilities.

You will be a crucial part of the Saab G1X System Engineering team, which is highly associated with a cross functional collaboration between customers, product managers, project managers, development and verification engineers.

  • Collaborating closely with product management (both capability and technical product leads)
  • Breaking down high-level roadmaps into structured work packages
  • Defining and driving pre-studies and technical investigations
  • Supporting and mentoring thesis students and early-stage initiatives
  • Building application understanding through data collection and environmental data gathering
  • Evaluating collected data to guide system-level decisions
  • Working with product and design standards to ensure compliance and structured development
  • Collaborating with specialty engineering teams across domains
  • Acting with buyer competence in cross-functional technical discussions
  • Contributing to methodology and process development for scalable and future-oriented system engineering
  • Playing a key role in shaping tomorrow’s systems within our platform

Your profile

You have an orientation toward the electronics, software, and power systems domain, and are comfortable working across these domains at a system level. While deep expertise in specific standards isn't required, it's important that you understand how product and design standards govern development – and that you're comfortable navigating within and around them as part of structured system work.

You approach problems from a systems engineering perspective, where structure, traceability, and cross-functional collaboration are key. You're comfortable working across disciplines and development phases – from early pre-studies and data collection to defining architectures and enabling implementation.

Experience with the V-model or similar structured development frameworks is valuable, but more important is your ability to think holistically and connect technical, user, and business needs into a coherent system.

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply. The location of the role will be in Mölnlycke.
