Saab is on an important journey.
As the world changes, the relevance of what we do is becoming even clearer. Demand is growing. Expectations are rising. The need for trust, clarity and strong positioning across markets has never been greater.
That is why we are building a marketing and communications team worthy of the journey Saab is on.
We are now looking for a Web Platform Lead to help build, govern and continuously improve Saab.com, our CMS environment and the related digital services that support Saab’s external digital presence.
This is a role for someone who wants real ownership. Someone who can bring structure to complexity, connect business and communication needs to web platform priorities, and make sure our external web presence is stable, secure, compliant, user-focused and aligned with Saab’s brand and business direction.
Your role
As Web Platform Lead, you will be responsible for the governance, development, operation and continuous improvement of Saab.com, our CMS environment and the related digital services that support Saab’s external digital presence.
You will own and coordinate the roadmap, backlog, governance model and day-to-day operations of Saab’s CMS platform, Optimizely, together with related services and suppliers. You will act as the main link between Group Brand & Marketing, Group IT, external partners and internal stakeholders.
You need to understand technical dependencies well enough to ask the right questions, coordinate development needs and translate business, communication and brand requirements into clear platform priorities.
It is a broad role. You will work across technology, communication, content, brand, security, compliance, suppliers and internal governance. You will need to create clarity where there is complexity, build structure where there is fragmentation and make sure the work moves forward in a way that is both practical and sustainable.
You will report to the Vice President, Global Head of Brand & Marketing and be part of Saab’s Group Brand & Marketing team. You will work closely with colleagues in Sweden and across the organisation, spanning brand strategy, editorial, digital, events, communications, IT and business stakeholders.
At Group level, we are building stronger platforms, clearer frameworks and a more connected way of working across brand, marketing and communications. This role is key to making that work real in our digital environment.
We are moving fast. You need to want to move with us.
What you will do
- own and coordinate the governance, development and operation of Saab.com and Saab’s CMS platform, Optimizely
- manage the web platform roadmap and backlog in an agile or semi-agile way
- create clarity around priorities, dependencies, timelines, decisions and responsibilities
- act as the main point of coordination for platform operations, support and incident management
- work closely with Group IT, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure that issues are handled efficiently and risks are escalated when needed
- represent Group Brand & Marketing and Group Communication & Sustainability in relevant IT governance forums and digital projects
- support budget planning, cost follow-up, supplier coordination and approval processes connected to the web platform, domain management and related digital services
- maintain clear documentation of platform architecture, processes, access rights, suppliers, decisions, risks and key stakeholders
- contribute to the continuous improvement of Saab’s external web presence and other prioritised digital brand touchpoints
- help improve structure, user flows, content coordination, testing and optimisation together with content owners, UX, developers, agencies and other stakeholders
- follow how AI-driven tools and automation are reshaping web platform management, content workflows, search, discovery and web experience, and help evaluate relevant opportunities for Saab
Your Profile
You know how to operate in the space between technology, communication and business needs. You are structured enough to bring order to complex systems, but pragmatic enough to keep work moving.
You can hold your own in a discussion about governance, priorities, platform dependencies or supplier delivery, and you can still roll up your sleeves to clarify a requirement, improve a process, document a decision or push an issue over the line.
You are comfortable in complex, matrixed environments and know how to build trust, alignment and momentum across functions, suppliers and seniority levels.
You are service-minded, but you understand that strong platform ownership sometimes means saying no, challenging unclear requests, protecting stability and security, and helping the organisation make better decisions.
Most of all, you are energised by building. You do not need a finished playbook to do good work. You are excited by the opportunity to help shape it.
What you bring
- experience from web platform ownership, web management, digital product ownership, IT coordination or a similar role in a complex organisation
- strong understanding of CMS platforms, preferably Optimizely
- experience managing digital roadmaps, backlogs, priorities and dependencies
- understanding of IT governance, support models and incident management
- experience coordinating suppliers, developers and internal stakeholders
- the ability to translate business and communication needs into clear platform requirements
- strong documentation, governance and process skills
- the ability to manage complexity, prioritise and create structure
- strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- understanding of security, compliance, access management and data/privacy considerations
- experience working in agile or semi-agile digital development environments
- excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
