For some healthcare clients, a physical control room to provide situational awareness and management of the site is not an optimal solution as this can require additional staffing and resources to house the equipment. Hence a mobile solution may be better suited to some environments. Enter, Saab’s Message Integration Engine – an inherent part of our OneView product that enables events and alarms from monitored assets to be routed and sent to relevant receiving devices such as SMS, email, nurse call, pagers and more.
This is just one example of how OneView can be used for much more than traditional security and surveillance. Queensland Children’s Hospital
The Queensland Children’s Hospital in South Brisbane is responsible for the safety of some 2,500 employees, 38,000 inpatients and 190,000 outpatients visiting annually. With security management partner, Chubb Electronic Security (Chubb), we successfully delivered an award-winning upgrade of the hospital’s security management and video-management systems.
OneView integrated with the Children’s Health Queensland ICT’s single converged network to provide a unified control room solution for access control, video management, communications, duress and asset tracking. Ultimately, this enabled a common infrastructure for all critical security systems, managed through one comprehensive user interface as a situational picture.
Through this project, the Queensland Children’s Hospital gained improved security operations efficiency through an intuitive single user interface, enhanced video storage, fully integrated sub-systems, a single coverage network and invaluable redundancy, reliability of processes and data recovery.
With an instinctual set-up, our OneView solution also provided operator and supervisor training plans, ultimately delivering capability which is flexible and scalable for future growth.
This project delivered OneView into a new vertical market, with Chubb as the incumbent service provider to manage the project on site and Saab as specialists for OneView configuration, subsystem integration and infrastructure design and delivery.
