Saab UK Training and Simulation deployed to Brunei
Do laser simulators work in the jungle? Saab’s do.
Saab UK training and simulation recently deployed to Brunei to instrument the 1 RGR Battlegroup exercise, ULU WARRIOR.
Direct fire engagements were recorded using laser simulators (Saab’s system uses the NATO standard U-LEIS laser code). Saab’s Area Weapons Effect Simulation provided virtual indirect fires through geometric pairing – this facilitated combined arms manoeuvre training for the battlegroup.
The highly accurate data that is captured ensures that training is measurable and objective, adding value through quality after-action analysis to improve learning outcomes. Saab’s instrumentation capability is routinely deployed overseas and is more than just the equipment. Analysts with relevant experience deliver system control and evaluation data, and technicians provide deployable communications, system availability and training.
An excellent effort by the Training Services team to support and add significant value to training in demanding conditions, all at the point of need.
