Strengthening the UK–Sweden Strategic Partnership
We were honoured to welcome HE Stefan Gullgren Swedish Ambassador to the UK and HE Samantha Job British Ambassador to Sweden, to Saab UK’s Fareham Campus. The two ambassadors were also joined by officials from International Collaboration and Exports at the UK Ministry of Defence.
This visit reflects the depth of collaboration between the UK and Sweden – two nations committed to advancing defence and security through innovation and industrial growth. At Fareham, Saab’s investment in advanced manufacturing and research is creating skilled jobs, providing British exports and reinforcing the UK’s sovereign industrial base – all while supporting international cooperation.
Saab also supports UK jobs and businesses through other programmes. These include the Gripen fighter, which is 35% UK content and the NLAW, which is 60% UK content. Both of these programmes involve important collaboration between the UK and Sweden.
During the visit, the ambassadors presented awards to Saab UK colleagues who have made a big impact this year. All of us at Saab UK are proud to contribute to a partnership between two allies that keeps people and society safe.
