Saab in partnership with Capgemini France is selected for MOUT definition study by the French DGA Saab Training Systems, Huskvarna, Sweden, in partnership with Capgemini France, Paris, has been selected by the French DGA (Délégation Générale pour l'Armement) to conduct a definition study for the future French MOUT (Military Operations in Urban Terrain) Combat Training Centre CENZUB (Centre d'Entraînement aux actions en Zone Urbaine) based in France (Sissonne). - We are proud to be selected in the face of keen competition for the definition study. Our success in the area of instrumented training centers has lead to the development of our urban training capability enabling units to train the full spectrum of warfighting and peace keeping from open to urban terrain, says Johan Ohlson, CEO for Saab Training Systems. The principal mission of the centre will be combined arms training at battalion level in an urban environment. The centre will cater for a broad spectrum of training from basic street craft and building entry up to tactical exercises with direct/indirect fire effects on buildings. This broad training capability will require a modular and scalable simulation infrastructure that can readily be adapted to meet the phased levels of training and mission objectives with their attendant changes in the rules of engagement. The first part of the definition study will consist of defining the architecture of the proposed centre and the second part a detailed definition of simulation, instrumentation, exercise command and control together with logistic support. At the end of the contract period a series of demonstrations will be performed.
