Saab receives order on two Ground Movement Control Systems from Infraero
A consortium of defence and security company Saab’s subsidiary HITT Traffic, Ambriex and RRJ Engenharia have by Brazilian airport operator Infraero been awarded a contract to provide an A3000 Advanced - Surface Movement Guidance and Control System at two international Brazilian airports.
The A3000 Advanced - Surface Movement Guidance and Control System (A-SMGCS) is developed and deployed by Saab subsidiary HITT Traffic. The system will now support air traffic controllers at Rio de Janeiro-Galeão International Airport and atAfonsoPenaInternationalAirportinCuritibaand help them guide airport traffic, especially during low visibility conditions such as fog and at night.
“This is a key order for Saab on a strategically important market. With this contract, Infraero's airports gain the latest technology for traffic guidance, and join the ranks of airports such asFrankfurt,SingaporeandShanghaithat also use the A3000 A-SMGCS,” says Gunilla Fransson, Head of Saab’s business area Security and Defence Solutions.
Infraero is a public enterprise responsible for operating 66 airports inBrazil. Consortium partner Ambriex supports HITT Traffic inBraziland is the primary point of contact for Infraero. RRJ Engenharia provides the civil works for this challenging project in active airport environments.
With this order, the consortium partners continue their success on the Brazilian market. The systems will be operational within 25 months.
