Realism – a must for all Live Training
The individual, a soldier or a commanding officer is the centrepiece in a modern force and consequently, in all modern training too. Live Training is all about experience the elements of combat.
A training system needs to be flexible, efficient and as realistic as possible. We believe that the most important prerequisite for training efficiency is just that - realism. Realism that makes it possible to train just the way you operate in your mission.
Realism that provides instant and valuable feedback that is fundamentally important for the learning process at all levels. It is crucial that soldiers get the maximum effect from the training and feel confident in the tasks they are preparing for. This can only be done with scenarios as close to the real mission as possible.
"Our systems can be used for training at all levels, from individual, squad or platoon level right up to and beyond brigade combat team level. It’s equally important that each individual gets the correct training and that the information built up at a lower level can be used as a foundation to analyse and learn from at higher levels," says Hans Lindgren, former officer and now Head of Business Development, at Saab's business unit Training & Simulation.
In the early days, soldiers could never really train as the reality. There was no digital technology, no evaluation tools and you couldn’t communicate between each other outside beyond talking range. With time training methods developed and today's realistic training is one of the cornerstones to successful missions. However, just as important today is attracting the best people to sign up for their national defence forces.
