Your role
You would work as a Project or Sub-Project Manager in customer delivery projects, where Saab’s naval customers get Saab 9LV Combat Management System (CMS) into their vessels. The delivery projects are almost always international and done together with Saab organizations in Sweden and Australia. You would focus to projects, which are delivered to Finnish customers.
You could also manage smaller and local development projects within Saab Finland depending on your availability.
In practice you would ensure that project planning, execution and reporting is done according to Saab project management standards and processes. Instead of deep diving into technical details, you would ensure that project can be delivered in time, agreed content and good quality, and if possible, within budget. You don’t like unpleasant surprises, so risk management is natural part of your work.
You would be ready to travel within Finland and also abroad regularly. Typical destinations are at the moment Turku, Rauma and Stockholm. Tampere is the home of Saab 9LV CMS development work in Finland. Tampere site has focus in software development, so it would be natural if you would have experience from software and system development and delivery projects.
Your profile
To succeed in this role requires multiple years’ experience in large software system projects from provider side. Even though your strength might be in software, you understand importance of hardware in system delivery projects.
Required skills and experience:
- A degree in science or engineering, preferably at least BSc degree
- Fluent Finnish and English language skills
- Structured way or working even under pressure
- Clear communication and documentation skills
- Frequent travelling (1-4 times a month) is not a problem for you
- Last but not least, you like to work with customers and end users, and meet them regularly
Ideally you would have prior experience from naval and/or defense sector projects, and you could get along also in Swedish.

The salary range for this position is € 6 000–€ 7 250 per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
