Fault management systems engineer

Mölnlycke or Göteborg,
Sweden
Closing date: 22 April 2026

Want to influence the bigger picture? At Saab, you can realise amazing innovations that keep people and societies safe. Together, we can truly make an impact – and your part matters.

Join our growing team as a Fault Management Design Engineer specializing in the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) domain and play a key role in delivering excellence across the product lifecycle.

Your role

As product support engineer within the ILS domain, you act as the technical bridge between engineering and support solutions for customers. You will ensure that our product meets operational, maintainability, reliability, and support requirements throughout its lifecycle.

This is a hands-on, cross functional engineering role where you:

  • Develop and maintain ILS documentation.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve product supportability and reliability.

  • Drive development of fault management/testability within our products.

  • Contribute to spares planning, obsolescence management, and lifecycle cost optimization.

  • Support reliability, maintainability, and availability (RMA) analysis.

  • Analyze field issues and coordinate root cause investigations.

The purpose of ILS is to create systems that are durable, require minimal maintenance, and, when necessary, are easy to maintain—thereby reducing costs throughout the entire lifecycle.

Your profile

We are looking for an individual with strong technical competence and a genuine passion for technology. Key qualities for this role include independence, the ability to build and maintain relationships, strong planning skills, and a clear customer focus. You should be analytical, methodical, and structured, while also demonstrating a high capacity to deliver in complex situations.

The work takes place in an international environment where you need to communicate fluently, both verbally and in writing, in Swedish and English.

We believe that you have:

  • A Master’s degree in engineering. Alternatively, you may have a background from the Armed Forces, where you have held a role within technical services.

  • Experience in developing fault management and testability for systems.

  • Experience in Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety (RAMS) is a merit.

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.

What you will be a part of

Explore a wealth of possibilities. Take on challenges, create smart inventions, and grow beyond. This is a place for curious minds, brave pioneers, and everyone in between. Together, we achieve the extraordinary, each bringing our unique perspectives. Your part matters.
