Your role
As Head of IT for Business Area Aeronautics, you will provide strategic oversight of our IT ecosystem, covering modernisation, automation, governance and cybersecurity. You will lead a professional IT organisation responsible for developing and delivering business capabilities across Applications, Governance, Infrastructure and DevOps Integration.
Your responsibility is to support Business Unit operations in meeting evolving customer requirements by ensuring structured IT availability and continuously enhancing our IT capabilities. You will work closely with Business Units and other internal functions to drive modernisation and collaborative innovation, both within Aeronautics and across the Saab Group.
A key part of the role is securing cost effective execution of increasing IT demand while maintaining robust, compliant and secure systems. You will also lead and support information related initiatives across the Business Area, delivering state-of-the-art infrastructure and tools that facilitate internal and external collaboration in the design, development and support of airborne fighter, surveillance and training systems.
In this role, your accountability includes:
- Contribute to Saab Group IT Strategy and develop Business Area Aeronautics IT Strategy.
- Develop and execute a transformative IT roadmap aligned with ambitious business goals.
- Act as the primary liaison between Business Area leadership, Saab Group CIO and other Business Area Heads of IT.
- Lead and inspire a high-performing IT Management team with a culture of transparency, collaboration and excellence.
- Oversee and optimise all aspects of IT, including demand, cost and delivery in the form of Infrastructure, Applications and Governance.
- Ensure the security and integrity of our critical data through ensuring robust cybersecurity measures to protect against evolving threats.
- Collaborate closely with business leadership to align IT initiatives with business goals in a robust and cost-effective manner, including Information Management and Cyber Security.
- Continue development and utilisation of IT metrics to support data driven decision-making.
- Ensure efficient and resilient IT operations, supporting day-to-day business functions, whilst optimizing cost structures.
The Business Area Head of IT reports directly to the Business Area Aeronautics, Head of Operational Excellence, with functional reporting to the Saab Group CIO. You will lead you own IT Management Team and be an integral part of the Operational Excellence Management Team.

Required skills:
- Proven track record as a senior and trusted manager in the digital domain. International experience is merited.
- Strong strategic planning and execution skills, with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable IT initiatives.
- A deep understanding of cybersecurity best practices, including a proven track record of implementing robust compliance measures.
- Extensive experience in IT operations and governance, utilising cloud architectures and the implementation of AI to support the business.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate other managers, technical and subject matter experts and other stakeholders.
- High School/University degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or another related field.
- A minimum of five years departmental management experience in a complex environment.
- Ability to communicate fluently in both Swedish and English.
The role is based in Linköping, Sweden.
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
