INFRASTRUCTURE ADMINISTARTOR
The role
As part of Saab's IT group, working within the IT infrastructure team, the Infrastructure Administrator plays a key role in developing, deploying and supporting the organisation’s IT Infrastructure; that aligns with both business and IT strategies.
You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance across the various IT Infrastructure environments; whilst maintaining a customer focus on service and support to the Saab user community.
This role will require you to contribute to technical matters pertaining to Projects, Support Request and Incidents, Agile Tasks, out-of-band activities and the operation of the IT Infrastructure in general.
As a member of the IT Infrastructure team, you will foster open collaboration, knowledge sharing and help the team mature into a high-performing, self-organising unit capable of effectively achieving goals and adapting to changing circumstances
This is primarily a Linux focussed role, that will require the Infrastructure Administrator to support and contribute to technical matters pertaining to Projects, Support Request and incidents, Agile Tasks, out-of-band activities and the operation of the IT Infrastructure in general.
Further, the successful candidate will:
- Ensure Saab’s IT Infrastructure is performing at its optimal capability; whilst best practices, standards and regulatory requirements are upheld to maintain our license-to-operate
- Ensure Saab’s IT Infrastructure is stable, resilient, highly available and operationally streamlined for effective business operations
- Troubleshoot and resolve assigned Support Requests and Incidents, and Agile Tasks whilst maintaining a customer focus on servicing and supporting the Saab user community
- Actively assist in deploying, supporting and monitoring system installations to ensure availability, validity and reliability across Saab’s computing environments
- Liaise and maintain working relationships with inter-team (internal) and external stakeholders, projects and partners to resolve issues and enable business success
- Actively participate in periodic compliance audits, that ensures standards, regulations and security compliance are met; whilst supporting business continuity and disaster recovery plan outcomes
- Collaborate and cross-skill with other members of the IT Infrastructure team, and where appropriate with the greater IT group
- Develop and maintain operational, support and end user documentation
- Report and communicate with IT Management on key issues and task outcomes
This is a Full time Fixed term Contract for 2 years; candidate could be based in SA or WA.
About you
Your skills and experience will include:
- Technical understanding and working knowledge across the following IT technologies:
- Linux: RHEL, Ubuntu (Fedora/Debian)
- Containerisation: Docker, Kubernetes
- Automation: Ansible, Satellite
- Virtualisation: VMware, NVIDIA vGPU, Citrix VDI
- Scripting languages: Ansible, Python, Bash
- Networking: IP Subnetting, VLANs/VRFs
- Network Security: Palo Alto & FortiNet
- Public Key Infrastructure
- Proven experience with at least 1-2 years working within an IT Infrastructure team, or similar, supporting infrastructure systems and platforms
- Broad knowledge and experience deploying, administering and supporting complex enterprise environments
- Familiarity with ticketing, incident, problem and change management systems
- Technical understanding and/or working knowledge across all IT disciplines, including, but not limited to: Networking & Network Security, Storage, Compute, Virtualisation, Server OS Platform management and Backup and Disaster Recovery Management
- High-level problem-solving skills and research/analytical ability, including the ability to obtain and interpret information and make specific recommendations
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills to enable effective communication and interaction with other people at appropriate levels of an organisation
- Fundamental understanding and awareness of information security and how this is applied in operational environments.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in adopting and complying to cyber-security best practices
- Able to adapt to changing priorities, tasks and requirements
- Ability to work under pressure and know when to escalate
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- ITIL v4 foundation certification
As a defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Citizenship and Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1/NV2 level. Information including past and present nationality and citizenship may be requested to check eligibility for access to materials controlled under various export control regimes, including ITAR.
