Your role
We are looking for a Manager System Design to lead and develop our System Design organization within GBAD C2.
In this role, you have full people responsibility for a team of system engineers, technical product leader, and a chief architect, as well as responsibility for construction deliverables within the section. Your focus is to build a high-performing organization by developing competencies, securing effective resource allocation, and enabling successful delivery.
You report to the Head of System Design and work closely with project managers, product managers, architects, and engineering leaders.

- Drive performance management, competence development, and recruitment
- Secure resource planning across projects and product development
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing culture
- Contribute to continuous improvement and long-term capability development
Your profile
You are an engaging leader with a background in systems engineering or similar technical environments. You have experience in people leadership, strong communication and stakeholder management skills, and a structured, collaborative approach. You are capable of balancing short-term delivery needs with long-term organizational and competence development.
We believe you have:
- Previous experience as a people manager, team leader, or similar leadership role
- Experience working in systems engineering, system design, software-intensive development, or related technical environments
- A strong interest in leadership, coaching, and competence development
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to balance short-term delivery needs with long-term organizational development
- A structured and collaborative approach to leadership
Experience from defence, aerospace, command and control systems, or other complex technical development environments is considered an advantage.

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
