Your role
Saab and Business unit Naval Combat Systems is looking for an engaged and result-oriented Product Manager for the naval command and control system 9LV Combat System Solutions. In this role you will be part of shaping the future for a market leading C2-system in the Naval domain. While our project organization is focusing on delivering systems to specific customers, The Product Management team is driving the long term overall commercial success of the product – or rather the 9LV system solution.
As part of the product management team, you are responsible for identifying a profitable path and ensuring that the broader business and development teams follow it, while also motivating and guiding them to stay on course. Your prime tools will be plans & roadmaps, directing research and development as well as maintenance and sustainment work tasks, to keep the system on track, booth technically and commercially. You will need to use both an ability to see abstractions as well as diving in to specialized areas.
This role involves balancing between customer interactions and internal technical contexts. The product management team consists of leaders who are encouraged to actively demonstrate their leadership in their roles.
Your role will include the following activities among others:
- Take product management responsibility over assigned areas of our large 9LV product
- Define, manage, write and communicate strategies, plans and roadmaps – and follow these through
- Support the bid and sales process with system knowhow and direction
- Be aware of market needs and technological developments
- Drive innovation
- Technical sales and operational usability activities
- Drive change in order to follow the necessary path of 9LV
- Follow and support development progress of our product
The position is initially based in Järfälla, but we will be relocating to new offices in Solna Strand in the near future. Occasional travel is required as part of the role.
Your profile
To excel as a product manager of 9LV Combat System Solutions, you should have a keen interest in driving product development. You possess excellent organizational skills to develop plans and follow up in line with our product lifecycle processes. Furthermore, you are independent, results-driven, and pragmatic in your approach.
You have a strategic ability and an interest in tracking market trends as well as understanding customers product needs, both today and in the future. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. You also bring a high level of personal maturity, sound judgment, and a strong ethical foundation.
Required skills and experience:
- Strong knowledge of the naval domain, Naval C2 technologies, or product management experience within the defence sector
- A relevant academic degree in engineering or an equivalent qualification
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in guiding teams by setting clear goals and requirements
- A strong business drive and commercial mindset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Swedish and English
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
