Job Description:

Saab's Surveillance Systems division in East Syracuse, NY is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Program Manager (PM)/ Deputy PM ,most specific to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) programs. The successful candidate will apply demonstrated knowledge of program/project management principles and concepts to resolve a variety of issues. To be successful in this role you must demonstrate expertise across a range of program management, process improvement, project management, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:

  • Develop and manage product development priorities by coordinating with programs and customer service, both internal and external.

  • Authorize and execute product development plans.

  • Plan, coordinate and conduct team meetings.

  • Support engineering, manufacturing, subcontract management and purchasing.

  • Support resource planning.

  • Ensure compliance with company SOPs.

  • Interface with Contracts, Finance, CM, QA, and purchasing organizations across multiple Saab sites.

  • Manage a multitude of support activities that may stem across multiple programs.

  • Generate, track and maintain project action items and risks.

  • At times, be the sole interface with the customer.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Business or related discipline is required. Master's degree/MBA is preferred.

  • 6-8+ years of relevant experience, preferably in program/project management.

  • Experience with FAA Projects (both Operations and Engineering) programs is a plus.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Visio, Project, PowerPoint).

  • Experience with Atlassian products like JIRA, SharePoint and Confluence, preferred.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organization and time management skills, attention to detail while tracking multiple interdependent functions, and ability to follow-up action items and requests.

  • Must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, possess a strong work ethic and constant desire to learn.

  • Ability to effectively multi-task and work well in a fast-paced environment.

  • Quality and improvement focused.

  • Strong business acumen and ability to work well with various levels of people in the organization.
