Project Manager for an EDF-call

Your role

We are seeking a Project Manager to join our growing team at Business Unit (BU) Surface Sensor Solutions.

This Project Management role will oversee and coordinate projects funded under the European Defence Fund (EDF) driven by the European Union. EDF-calls is the EU’s programme to support collaborative defence research and development innovation across member states within the European Union.

As a Project Manager at Surface Sensors Solutions you will work with these EDF-calls either as the main project manager or deputy project manager within one or more EDF projects. You will work in a team with other Project Managers both within Surface Sensor Solutions as well as across Saab’s other Business Areas. You will manage complex international consortia (often involving other defence companies, research institutes, and other SMEs).

This role requires travelling within Europe.

As a part of the daily work you will:

  • Ensure the project progresses on time, on budget, and in scope.
  • Oversee work packages, milestones, deliverables, and risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with EDF grant requirements, such as Eligibility criteria, IPR, security rules.
  • Liaise with National defence ministries, EU institutions, Consortium partners across the EU as well as Defence contractors and subcontractors all over Europe.
  • Manage sensitive or classified information securely.
  • Ensure that the project adheres to dual-use regulations, export control laws, and cybersecurity protocols.

Your profile

We believe that you have a technical background and leadership experience. You are comfortable working both independently within your field of competence as well as with other interfaces in order to secure quality, to meet directives and deadlines. 

You are a team player, willing to walk the extra mile for your team and its objectives. We believe you do have drive, perseverance and an interest to understand the complexity in a large project environment.

We also believe you:

  • Have excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English
  • Have a structured way of working that you also can create and communicate to your team
  • Are interested in learning new things and adapt to different environments and cultures.

Meritorious is if you:

  • Have a financial understanding and experience from project management and contract negotiations.
  • Have experience with EU grants (Horizon Europe, EDIDP, or EDF).
  • Understand and speak any additional European language.

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
