Your role

As a Proof Firing assistant, you will support and execute proof-firing activities in accordance with approved procedures, safety requirements, and operational standards.

You will be responsible for accurately recording firing results, observations, malfunctions, and test data, ensuring that all information is documented and maintained in accordance with company and regulatory requirements. The role includes preparing proof-firing reports, maintaining complete test records, and ensuring full traceability of all testing activities.

You will ensure the proper handling, identification, storage, and accountability of ammunition used during trials while maintaining strict compliance with defence security requirements and confidentiality standards. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will support proof-firing preparations in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring that all equipment, materials, and documentation are prepared and available prior to testing.

Safety is a critical aspect of the role. You will be expected to stop or suspend testing whenever unsafe conditions or deviations from approved procedures are identified and support investigations into proof-test failures, incidents, or abnormalities. You will contribute to the implementation of corrective and preventive actions to continuously improve test quality, safety, and operational performance.

In addition, you will support the development and training of associates and supervisors through participation in training sessions, technical development activities, one-to-one coaching, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. You will assist in maintaining performance standards, supporting skills development, and promoting adherence to operational and safety procedures.

The position also includes supporting external audits, inspections, and visits from regulatory or certification bodies. You will help ensure the safety of personnel across the facility, maintain and promote associate safety standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and operational excellence. Furthermore, you will prepare monthly scheduled activity and inspection reports, monitor observations raised by external agencies, and assist in ensuring that appropriate follow-up actions are implemented and documented.

Your profile

  • High school graduate from any discipline
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in defence weapon systems, ammunition testing, proof-firing operations, quality assurance, or defence testing environments.
  • Knowledge within Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to accurately record and report test data.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken Hindi and English, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the workforce.
  • Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations and requirements.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment, hazard identification, and emergency response procedures.
  • Experience with test instrumentation, measurement equipment, and technical data recording.
  • Understanding of applicable technical specifications, standards, and testing procedures.
  • Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Knowledge of crisis and incident management principles is considered an advantage.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to safety and quality standards.
