The opportunity

Saab Australia is an industry participant in the Combat Systems Integration – Integrated Project Team (CSI-IPT). The CSI-IPT forms a collaborative enterprise organisation to execute scopes of work across Hobart Class Destroyer (SEA4000 Phase 6 and other related Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) upgrades) and the Hunter Class Frigates (HCFs - SEA5000 Phase 1).
 

The role

As part of our Engineering and Sustainment Services group, the Senior Project Controller will provide advice and guidance to Project Controllers, Task Managers, CAMs and Project Managers in the areas of project planning, project monitoring & control, cost and schedule baseline maintenance and reporting of project cost and schedule status.
 

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Lead the development and maintenance of the Tasking Statement Work Breakdown Structure (TSWBS) and associated WBS Dictionaries.

  • Ensure that planning and scheduling, budgeting, accounting, analysis and reporting activities are fully integrated.

  • Ensure that cost / schedule planning activities are undertaken in co-ordination with Control Account Managers and the Project Managers.

  • Undertake detailed planning activities, including rolling wave planning and develop Control Account Plans (CAP).
     

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office and a 9-day fortnight will be considered for this role.
 

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Tertiary qualifications in an engineering, science or business discipline desirable.

  • In excess of five years’ experience as a project planner and controller for projects of medium to high complexity.

  • Experience working in an EV Defence project environment.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Project Management processes eg. PMBOK.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in using cost management software preferably COBRA™ and OPP.


Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
