Your role
As a Software Test Lead, you would lead Saab 9LV combat management system (CMS) test activities at Tampere and Finland. Saab 9LV combat management system has a distributed and international development organization, so you would have chance to collaborate with people from different countries.
In practice you would lead a system testing team, which has currently four members, but there are plans for growth. You would also collaborate tightly with software automation team at Tampere, which is building enablers for test automation. Your most important stakeholders would be project managers, product owners and end-customers.
Most important objectives for the test team are
- Acceptance testing of delivery project at Rauma and Turku during 2026-2029
- System testing of new releases
- Testing of new product features
- Develop and maintain regression test suites (manual and automated)
- Develop and modernize quality assurance and testing practices
You would have a key role to decide how and when various testing needs would be fulfilled and productivity in testing work will be improved.
In this job, some of your tasks have a connection to defense secrecy. Therefore, a drug test and approved security clearance in accordance with the Finnish Security Clearance act 726/2014 is required for the selected applicant.
Your profile
We wish that you would have software engineering related education and few years work experience from software testing. Ideally you would have good skills in English, Finnish and Swedish, but we understand that if you can handle only English well.
You would be willing to travel 1-2 times in a month. Since our most test environments are not accessible remotely, you would be ready to work in our office at Tampere 3-5 times a week.
You are familiar with agile way of working and using Jira (or similar system), and creating visibility is natural for you.
You also prefer to use a real test management tool instead of Excel, and you have experience of doing so. Understanding or even having experience in test automation would be nice.

Your work place will be at Saab Sensor Technology Center in Tampere downtown in newly renovated premises.

The salary range for this position is €5000–€6500 per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
