We are seeking for a Strategic Purchaser (Sourcing) for our site in Tampere!
Your role
As a Strategic Purchaser, you'll play a crucial role in managing relationships with our current and potential suppliers in the Electronics and Mechanical Components industry.
You will be part of our Sourcing and Production team and be working in close cooperation with our internal stakeholders and our suppliers. Your tasks include creating conditions for an efficient and uninterrupted supply chain to meet the needs of projects and production. We are navigating in a challenging and complex environment since Saab is pushing boundaries for what is considered as technically possible. Good communication and planning skills are essential elements, as well as a positive mindset and a high level of commitment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting production and projects with commercial responsibility and to continuously evaluating the market competitiveness of the current supplier portfolio
- Negotiating, actively managing, and further developing our supplier agreements
- Issuing RFQs, evaluating quotations, and negotiating prices and terms
- Ensuring that Saab’s purchasing strategy, policy, and procedures are fulfilled
Your profile
To thrive in this role, you are a business and customer-oriented person with great communication skills. You are used to efficiently collaborating with team members as well as other stakeholders. You are structured and have an analytical mindset enabling you to adapt to different circumstances.
To succeed in your role, you have to be able to act independently and be capable of taking own initiatives in the interaction with present and potential future suppliers. Strategical skills with a high focus on the customer’s needs and satisfaction is of high priority in this role.
Required skills:
- University degree in Engineering or Economics or equivalent working experience
- Experience from sourcing
- Excellent communication skills in Finnish and English, verbal and written
- Good knowledge of MS Office
We also appreciate:
- Experience from procurement from abovementioned categories
- Experience from ERP systems e.g. IFS
- Experience from the defense industry
