Your role

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Technical Project Manager to lead embedded SW and FPGA projects in delivering high-quality embedded solutions. In this role, you will bridge technical execution with organized planning – ensuring clear targets and schedules, disciplined development, and smooth collaboration across engineering, product, and quality teams. This role can be somewhat tailored based on your expertise and career ambitions – project management tasks can be appended with hands-on SW development, SW architect, or people management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of embedded software and firmware for both internal projects and for customers

  • Work closely with hardware, RF, systems, and QA teams to define project scope, milestones, and resource needs

  • Manage schedules, risks, and dependencies; drive issue resolution

  • Translate technical details and status into clear plans and communication for stakeholders

  • Ensure best practices are used in embedded software development. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, reliability, and delivery excellence

  • Facilitate design reviews, release planning, backlog refining, and cross-team alignment with development leads

  • Support budgeting, resourcing, and external partner collaboration when required

This role requires fluent communication in English. Finnish is preferred but not mandatory.

In this job, some of your tasks have a connection to defense secrecy. Therefore, a drug test and approved security clearance in accordance with the Finnish Security Clearance act 726/2014 is required for the selected applicant.

Your profile

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in embedded software development

  • 2+ years of experience in technical project management or engineering leadership with demonstrated success in managing complex engineering work

  • Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture, hardware – software integration, ensuring software quality

  • Proficiency with agile SW project management methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills

  • Ability to read technical documentation and contribute to engineering discussions

Nice to Have

  • Experience in safety-critical products or regulated environments

  • People management or SW architect or other complementary experience
