The role

As part of our People & Culture Team, the Talent Acquisition Partner will play a key role in partnering with Saab’s business units and undertaking best-practice recruitment processes to ensure that efficient, high quality hiring outcomes are achieved.

The Talent Acquisition Partner is responsible for leading, planning and managing the end-to-end recruitment activities for assigned roles. This involves developing a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within Saab’s business units and partnering with hiring managers to accurately articulate roles, undertake best-practice recruitment processes and ensure that efficient, high quality hiring outcomes are achieved.

This role will assist with the activities related to workforce planning and strategy, employer branding, Omni-channel & strategic sourcing, process excellence, reporting & analytics and other talent advisory services.

Further, the successful candidates will:

  • Understanding Saab Australia business unit priorities, the talent market and planning talent acquisition activities in accordance to achieve efficient and high-quality hiring outcomes.
  • Conducting detailed job briefs, advising hiring managers on best routes to market and executing the agreed approach.
  • Executing best-practice attraction, recruitment and selection methodologies based on target audience and understanding of the candidate market
  • Leading, planning and managing the end-to-end processes for allocated vacancies, to include:
    • Creating and posting job advertisements
    • Shortlisting, phone screens and passive sourcing
    • Creating and managing candidate pools
    • Competency based interviews
    • Pre-employment checks (i.e. reference checking & psychometric assessments)
    • Negotiating commencement salaries within agreed structure

Applying objective quality evidence through the decision-making process to ensure that hiring decisions are based on merit, rigour and organisational best fit

Ensuring candidates experience a professional and efficient selection process, from timely responses to queries, to meaningful feedback and seamless onboarding

This role will be offered of an initial 12-month fixed term contract. The role is open in SA only

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home will be considered for this role.

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Supporting recruitment and selection activities related to early careers campaigns for graduate, internship and scholarship hires
  • Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with key business stakeholders such as P&C Business Partners, Hiring Managers, Heads of Disciplines, Heads of the Department, General Managers, and the Chief Engineer Group.
  • Provide excellent candidate management and candidate experience through recruitment life cycle.
  • Promoting Saab Australia’s employer brand in the internal and external talent marketplace by representing the company at career expos, round tables etc.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of talent acquisition systems, processes and strategy, with a focus on efficiency, digitisation and automation
  • Supporting broader P&C team initiatives and representing the team’s ethos of strong communication, continuous improvement, best practice and collaboration in all day-to-day dealings
  • Demonstrated talent acquisition experience in a technically focused or related business, either internal or agency
  • High level ability to influence and negotiate with business stakeholders, candidates, and suppliers to achieve successful results.
  • Strong candidate sourcing skills via various channels: Online, Networking, Talent Pools etc.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to understand the interrelationships between and impact of decisions.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite, with an intermediate knowledge of Excel.
  • Strong experience using HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems (Workday preferred but not mandatory)
  • A commitment to handling sensitive information with the appropriate level of discretion.
  • A tertiary qualification in human resources or related business discipline, or equivalent professional experience.


 

As a defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Citizenship and Australian Defence Security Clearance to baseline level or have the ability to gain one. Information including past and present nationality and citizenship may be requested to check eligibility for access to materials controlled under various export control regimes, including ITAR.
