Gripen Mission Trainers are in full operation in Brazil

Two advanced Gripen E Mission Trainers were installed in Brazil, at the Anápolis Air Base (BAAN) in the state of Goias.  The BAAN is also the home of the 1st Air Defense Group (1st GDA) - the squadron that operates the Gripen fighters in Brazil.

Gripen E now in Operation with Brazilian Air Force

The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) held a ceremony on 19 December at the Anápolis Air Base (BAAN) marking the beginning of operational activities of the Gripen E fighters (referred to as Gripen F-39 in Brazil) by the First Air Defense Group (1st GDA).

The First Serial Production Gripen E Fighters are in Brazil

The first two serial production Gripen E fighters, called F-39 Gripen by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), are in Brazil. The aircraft arrived in the country last Friday, April 1st, at the port of Navegantes, and today completed their first flight in the country. The two aircraft flew from Navegantes International Airport to the Gripen Flight Test Center at the Embraer plant in Gavião Peixoto.

Gripen E Entering Serial Delivery Phase for Brazilian and Swedish Air Forces

Today, November 24, Saab held a high-level meeting with authorities from Brazil and Sweden to present the first six serial production Gripen E aircraft, which have left the factory and entered the delivery phase. The delegations from both countries also had the opportunity to discuss joint activities that will be beneficial to the Gripen programme.
