Since its entry into service, more than 200 operators in 60 countries have been operating the Saab 340, primarily for regional passenger service. In fact, the Saab 340 is the best-selling 30-seat aircraft of the last 50 years. To date, the Saab 340 fleet has accumulated some 15 million hours with an outstanding safety record. Although the Saab 340 is no longer built, Saab expect these 30-seat aircraft will continue to play a vital role serving small communities. Since its entry into service it has established itself as a unique 50-seat aircraft combining high speed with excellent airfield performance. The Saab 2000 fleet has weathered the recent market challenges very well as all the aircraft remain active in Europe, USA and Japan. The uniqueness of the Saab 2000 has also attracted various non-airline customers.
