FAB Holds Symposium to Present Gripen’s Characteristics

On 26th October, a Symposium to present Gripen E was held by the Brazilian Air Force. The event was promoted by COMPREP (Preparation Command) along with Saab. The purpose of this event was to present the main characteristics of the new Brazilian Gripen E to pilots and members of Air Units of Fighter Aviation, reports Poder Aereo.

Besides the overall presentation of the Gripen fighter, the event also highlighted the role of COMPREP in enforcing the new Gripen fighters. The workshop also included a visit of the Gripen fighter and a lecture by SAAB test pilots.

"With the new operational capabilities, a new methodology for operational progression of various equipment should be consolidated. The doctrines of employment and the entire logistics system should also be updated," said Lieutenant General Antonio Carlos Moretti Bermudez, the Aeronautics Commander.

The Symposium was held a few days after the Brazilian Gripen was officially presented to the FAB on 23rd October. It was also attended by several important figures including members of the Brazilian Air Force, Saab officials, and the director of the Brazilian Gripen Programme.

Behind the scenes of a Gripen air-to-air photo-shoot

Executing a successful air-to-air photo-shoot requires quite a lot of planning and a bit of luck with the weather. At Saab Aeronautics communications department we made a formal request to the Swedish Air force to use one of their C-130 Hercules and a Gripen C aircraft to be able to shoot footage of the Gripen C and Gripen E flying together.

The fighter jet, with registration FAB 4107, landed at Anápolis Air Base (BAAN) on Friday morning, December 15.

Hungarian Gripen exercised in field conditions
