We are now looking for someone who is passionate about technology, whether you have extensive experience from industry or just a great interest in technology.

At Saab, you will work as an assembler in the factory in Jhajjar, in an exciting environment, where you and your team will be responsible for assembling parts for our innovative defence and security solutions. You will work with both assembly and inspection of our products.

As an Ultrasonic test operator, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Perform ultrasonic testing on raw materials, welded joints, castings, forgings, pipes, and finished components.
  • Set up, calibrate, and operate ultrasonic testing equipment.
  • Conduct flaw detection, thickness measurement, and defect evaluation.
  • Interpret A-scan and other UT signals to identify discontinuities.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and inspection procedures before testing.
  • Prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate test records.
  • Identify and report non-conforming products to supervisors or quality teams.
  • Verify calibration status of UT instruments and reference blocks.
  • Follow NDT procedures and applicable industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
  • Coordinate with production, welding, and quality departments to resolve inspection issues.
  • Maintain UT equipment in good working condition.

Some part of the introduction will be held in Sweden during Spring 2027.

To succeed in the role, your profile should have the following:

  • Diploma (3 Years) in Mechanical / Instrumentation / Metallurgy or Equivalent from any reputed institute
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in precision engineering manufacturing in Defence, Chemical or Heavy Industry environment, preferably within a European manufacturing facility.
  • Knowledge of ultrasonic testing principles and NDT methods.
  • Ability to interpret ultrasonic test results accurately.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ASTM, ISO, AWS, API, as applicable).
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and record management.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings symbols.
  • Good communication skills in both English and Hindi

You also need to fulfil the following requirements:

  • ASNT Level I – Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
  • ISO 9712 UT Level I (Eye Examination – Near Vision Acuity & Colour Vision)

It is also beneficial if you meet the following requirements;

  • Understanding of material specifications and acceptance criteria
  • Ability to identify discontinuities such as: Cracks, Lack of fusion, Porosity, Inclusions, Laminations
  • Evaluate inspection results against acceptance criteria
  • High level of concentration and accuracy during inspections.
  • Ability to recognize abnormal indications and avoid false interpretations
  • High ethical standards and integrity in reporting inspection results
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a quality team

We are looking for a person who will thrive in this role and who brings the following personal qualities:

We also expect that you will follow all the security processes and have a deep safety awareness and follow the company rules regarding these areas.

The position requires that you undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations and undergo a security vetting.
