Unmanned, versatile and mission ready

Saab and UMS Aero Group AG, a Swiss supplier of tactical UAVs, have formed a joint venture under the name UMS SKELDAR. Skeldar is a versatile system for a wide range of applications such as reconnaissance, identification, target acquisition and electronic warfare. A number of COTS high resolution EO/IR, SAR and EW sensors are available. Alongside design and production, UMS SKELDAR develops its own associated systems which serve to fly various types of UAV’s simultaneously on the same Ground Control Station (GCS). The company can also provide customers with qualified ISR instructors for training of vehicles or to interpret sensor information alongside the RPAS capability requirement.

Hungarian Gripen exercised in field conditions

The Adaptive Hussars 2023 exercise of the Hungarian Defence Forces brought pilots, technicians and equipment of the MH Szentgyörgyi Dezső 101st Aviation to the Lake Balaton area. Here, at Sármellék, a former air base used by Soviet Air Force for more than 33 years ago, acted as the new environment for five Hungarian Gripen fighters and its personell.
