Vidar is designed and verified for naval and ground applications and will withstand harsh environmental conditions. Vidar is a true class 1M eye safety laser, which also makes the rangefinder easy to use during training.
Reliability in demanding conditions
Vidar is designed and verified to sustain long-term use in harsh environments where reliability is crucial. It is built up in a sealed and stable housing with external surface treatment for demanding conditions.
The laser rangefinder has excellent performance with a range of up to 40km with a pulse repetition rate up to 12.5 pps.
By careful selection of the laser parameters, Vidar is classified as a Class 1M laser product in accordance with the standards EN 60825-1 and IEC: 2014.

Over the years, Saab has delivered more than 5000 lasers to more than 30 countries. Vidar is the latest laser range finder, building on decades of development and experience.
Range finders for different applications
Saab also offers laser rangefinders adapted for other manufacturers’ applications. One example is Odin, which is laser rangefinder for armored vehicle applications. It has been delivered to several European countries, providing high quality and excellent performance, covering both anti-aircraft as well as ground-to-ground applications.
Thanks to its modular design, it is easy to reconfigure for different applications. One application is integrated in the CV90 combat vehicle.
