International co-operation

At Saab, international co-operation is important to ensure open and transparent ways of doing business, as well as a level playing field.

Collaboration and Industry Engagement

Saab actively collaborates with key industry organisations to support the development of European defence and security capabilities. The company works closely with the Swedish Security and Defence Industry Association (SOFF) and contributes to EU-level initiatives through the Aerospace, Security and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD) and the European Defence Fund (EDF).

Saab has played an active role in shaping important EU initiatives, including the European Competitiveness Fund (ECF), and continues to contribute to the development of the EU Defence Industry Programme (EDIP).

In 2025, Saab’s CEO, Micael Johansson, was elected President and Chairman of the Board of ASD, further strengthening Saab’s influence and responsibility in advancing European competitiveness and defence capabilities.

Saab also maintains representation on the SOFF Board of Directors, with several employees participating in working groups across both organisations—supporting collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and policy development within the sector.
