Degraded Visual Environment Solutions, EVE-100
Saab is a world-leading supplier of sensor solutions for airborne platforms, leveraging a rich heritage in sensor technology and integration to deliver cutting-edge Degraded Visual Environment (DVE) solutions. These solutions are designed to enhance situational awareness during special mission operations in demanding environments, including low-level altitude, low visibility and complex terrain.
With a modular architecture, Saab's DVE solutions are highly adaptable to meet customer-specific needs and support future growth and upgrades. The systems integrate multiple sensors tailored to various conditions, advanced software algorithms, Saab's Terrain Awareness and Warning System (MA-TAWS-100) and Saab's Synthetic Vision System (SiA-100).
MA-TAWS-100
The MA-TAWS 100 is one of Saab's next-generation products, offering airborne platforms a performance-based Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS). Designed to provide nuisance-free Controlled Flight into Terrain (CFIT) protection, the MA-TAWS 100 is ideal for missions in challenging mountainous terrain where low-level altitude flights are necessary.
The MA-TAWS 100 is engineered to reduce the risk of CFIT accidents by alerting the flight crew to potential collision threats and providing crucial information to avoid hazardous situations. Its core function is to issue alerts when immediate action is required by the pilot to avoid collision, utilizing the maximum available climb performance.
Synthetic Vision Systems, SiA-100
Saab’s Synthetic Vision Systems (SiA-100) is developed to increase flight crew’s situation awareness and contributes to the overall safety. It provides the flight crews with a synthetic depiction of the external environment regardless of the current weather or time of day. It is intended for use during all flight phases. The Synthetic Vision System can be used as an underlay to the Primary Flight Display (PFD) during all phases of operation. It can be displayed on Head Down Displays (HDD), Head-Up Display (HUD) and Head-Mounted Display (HMD).
